Happy 20 Life.Church

We are so excited to see and celebrate with Life.Church as they celebrate their 20th anniversary this week!

Even though we haven’t been there since the very beginning, we have been there since the launch of their first remote campus in 2002!

“I still remember Bobby Gruenewald calling me for a quote.” CEO Steve Nance recalls, “He explained they were launching a remote campus in Tulsa. They wanted moving lights, truss, smoke and a rocking audio system for their mobile house of worship.” He explained how they would have a live worship band and then the message would be a prerecorded message that everyone would watch on a big screen.

We sent the quote over for a small PA with speakers on stands and a couple of lighting trees. Bobby called back and said, “I don’t think you understand – we want a rocking system and moving lights!”

So we designed a mobile package that could be loaded in fairly quickly, quoted it and a few weeks later we were at the Holiday Inn loading in at 2:00am! We would go from a show on Saturday night to the warehouse to pick up the Life.Church rig, then directly to loading in for Sunday morning experiences.

With Pete doing Audio, Steve running lights, Stephen Gruenewald leading the tech team, Kevin Penry as our Campus Pastor, Derrick Henslee leading Worship and a bunch of amazing volunteers, we did this week after week.

After several weeks, Life.Church decided to add a Stillwater location! We would load in Tulsa, do services, breakdown and head to Stillwater to set up for Sunday night services. By the time we got back home at 1am, we were exhausted! But, it was so rewarding to see so many people coming every week.

Moving from the Holiday Inn to Union Intermediate School and within a couple years Life.Church Tulsa found a permanent home and they purchased their own gear. Steve & Pete continued to run lighting & sound for several years at the Tulsa campus.

Now with over 25 campuses across the United States, we still supply supplemental lighting and production to several of Life.Church campuses. Our CEO & President, Steve Nance programs lighting weekly for 6 of those campuses. Our VP, Pete Dawson runs audio at the Jenks campus.

14 years later, we are honored to say Life.Church is still one of our favorite clients & our extended family! It’s amazing to see how Life.Church has grown and to be a part of what God is doing has been such a blessing.
